Job summary

Ottawa-Carleton District School Board (OCDSB) is seeking an Early Childhood Educator to support JK/SK learners in a full-day Early Learning Program. The role involves delivering play-based education under the principal’s direction and coordinating before/after-school care at designated schools.

The ideal candidate will hold a two-year ECE credential, be in good standing with the Ontario College of Early Childhood Educators, and have immunization and vulnerable-sector checks up to date.

Qualifications

• Two-year community college program in Early Childhood Education or equivalent.
• Registration in good standing with Ontario College of Early Childhood Educators is required.
• Minimum one year of child care experience is required.
• Valid First Aid/CPR certification required.
• Immunization records including MMR and Tdap are required for OCDSB employees.
• Police Records Check (VSC) within last 6 months for new OCDSB employees; PRC-VSC within last 5 years for current employees.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with classroom teacher to provide high quality play-based education for JK/SK students.
• Lead an extended program before/after school for OCDSB students at designated elementary schools.
• Work with the teacher in daily classroom activities to support learning and development.
