Job summary

Elbow Academy in Calgary is hiring an Early Childhood Educator (ECE) Levels 1–3 to join our Centre on Elbow Drive SW. Start date: soon.

This full-time role offers a wage enhancement on top of the hourly rate. You will develop and implement a program aligned with our curriculum, foster a safe, engaging classroom, assess children’s needs, and partner with families and colleagues to support each child’s development.

Qualifications

• Certification in Early Childhood Education and relevant training.
• Experience working with young children in a group setting is preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively with families and staff.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a program aligned with Elbow Academy’s curriculum.
• Maintain a safe, organized classroom environment for children.
• Assess abilities and needs of children; discuss progress with parents and staff.
• Collaborate with coworkers, management, and families.

What will you be doing?

As an Early Childhood Educator, you will work side-by-side with teachers and families to provide a home away from home for children in our care. Responsibilities include:

• Developing and implementing a program in line with Elbow Academy’s curriculum that supports the development of children.
• Maintaining an environment that protects the well-being of children.
• Assessing the abilities, interests, and needs of children and discuss progress with parents and other staff.
• Establishing collaborative relationships with co-workers, management, and families.
• Attending staff meetings and professional development opportunities as necessary.
• Working to maintain cleanliness and organization of classroom materials.
