Qualifications

Education: College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a 1-2 year program.

Responsibilities
  • Assess children’s development to tailor learning plans.
  • Bathe, diaper, and feed infants and toddlers.
  • Develop and implement programs supporting physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development.
  • Maintain daycare equipment and environment.
  • Storytelling and leading activities such as singing, crafts, and outings.
  • Communicate with parents regarding children’s progress and behaviour.
  • Assist in record-keeping and observing children for developmental or behavioural issues.
  • Encourage creativity through arts, play, and physical activities.
  • Guide children in developing proper habits and routines.
  • Prepare snacks and organize space for activities and rest periods.
  • Maintain health and safety standards and keep records.
