  • College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 to 2 years
  • Full-time enrollment

Work Location

On-site. Work must be completed at the physical location. Remote work is not an option.

Responsibilities and Tasks

  1. Assess children’s development to prepare tailored learning plans.
  2. Bathe, diaper, and feed infants and toddlers.
  3. Develop and implement child-care programs supporting physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development.
  4. Maintain daycare equipment.
  5. Engage in storytelling and lead activities such as reading stories, singing songs, and taking children to local points of interest.
  6. Synthesize children’s overall situation and communicate findings to parents.
  7. Assist early childhood educators in carrying out developmental programs.
  8. Encourage children’s creativity through art, dramatic play, music, and physical activities.
  9. Guide children in developing proper eating, dressing, and toileting habits.
  10. Prepare snacks and organize rooms for lunch and rest periods.
  11. Observe children for signs of learning or behavioral issues and report findings to parents and supervisors.
  12. Keep records of children’s activities and health information.
  13. Maintain knowledge of licensing regulations.
  14. Establish behavior guidelines and a safe, healthy environment.
  15. Collaborate with co-workers and community service providers.
