Job summary

BGC Okanagan is seeking a part-time Early Childhood Educator Assistant to join our Early Years Childcare program at Mission Hill club in Vernon. Hours are 11am-1pm, Monday to Friday, totaling 10 hours per week, with a pay rate of $21.86 per hour.

Applicants must have the Early Childhood Assistant Certification and a current First Aid Certificate, or willingness to obtain them. Completion of the agency screening and background check is required.

Qualifications

• Early Childhood Assistant Certification is required.
• Current First Aid Certificate, or willingness to obtain.
• Successful completion of Agency screening process, including a criminal record check.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the development and implementation of programs aligned with core values.
• Ensure programs engage members and support healthy child development and belonging.
• Provide a nurturing, fun and safe environment for children.
• Establish positive relationships and open communication with parents/guardians.
• Attend to children’s physical needs (diapering, toileting, eating, sleeping).
• Keep facilities and equipment safe and clean; report repairs and concerns.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist in the development and implementation of programs and activities that are consistent with agency core values and core programming areas.
• Ensure that programs develop, engage members, address healthy positive child development and provide members with a sense of belonging.

• Provide a nurturing, fun and safe environment for children
• Establish positive relationships and open communication with parents/guardians
• Ensure that specific goals of the children and programs are met
• Attends to children’s physical needs, which may include diapering, toileting, eating and sleeping.
• Keep program facilities and equipment safe and clean, reporting any repairs and concerns to senior staff.

Qualifications:

• Early Childhood Assistant Certification is required
• Current First Aid Certificate, or willingness to obtain

Hours: 10 hours, Monday to Friday, 11am-1pm

Rate of Pay: $21.86 per hour
