Job summary

BGC Okanagan is hiring an Early Childhood Educator Assistant for Alexis Park Elementary in Vernon, BC. The role involves supporting the development and delivery of child-centered programs, fostering healthy development, and creating a nurturing environment.

You will work Monday to Friday, 40 hours weekly, with a pay rate of $21.86 per hour. Applicants must have the ECEA certification, First Aid, and pass the agency screening process. We value inclusive hiring and welcome diverse applicants.

Qualifications

• Early Childhood Assistant Certification is required.
• Current First Aid Certificate, or willingness to obtain.
• Successful completion of Agency screening process, including a criminal record check.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the development and implementation of programs and activities that are consistent with agency core values and core programming areas.
• Ensure that programs develop, engage members, address healthy positive child development and provide members with a sense of belonging.
• Provide a nurturing, fun and safe environment for children
• Establish positive relationships and open communication with parents/guardians
• Ensure that specific goals of the children and programs are met
• Attends to children’s physical needs, which may include diapering, toileting, eating and sleeping.
• Keep program facilities and equipment safe and clean, reporting any repairs and concerns to senior staff.
