BGC Okanagan is hiring an Early Childhood Educator Assistant for the Peachland Preschool – Little Learners, 30 hours per week in Peachland, BC. The role supports daily activities, safety, and developmentally appropriate learning experiences for young children.

You will work with a caring team, participate in ongoing professional development, and contribute to a supportive learning environment while upholding licensing and organizational policies.

Qualifications

• Requires Early Childhood Educator Assistant certificate.
• Current First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain.
• Successful completion of Agency screening process, including a criminal record check.

Responsabilités

• Assists in planning, preparing and carrying out developmentally appropriate program and activities.
• Ensures activities adhere to BGC Okanagan policies and Childcare Licensing Regulations.
• Monitor, guide and assist children in daily activities.
• Attends to children’s physical needs, including diapering, toileting, eating and sleeping.
• Model developmentally appropriate activities and positive behaviour management techniques.
• Maintains records and reports problems or concerns to senior staff.
• Establish positive relationships and open communication with parents/guardians.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assists in planning, preparing and carrying out developmentally appropriate program and activities. Program schedules include indoor/outdoor, active/quiet and individual group activities.
• Ensures activities adhere to the BGC Okanagan Policies and Childcare Licensing Regulations.
• Monitor, guide and assist children in daily activities.
• Attends to children’s physical needs, which may include diapering, toileting, eating and sleeping.
• Model developmentally appropriate activities and positive behaviour management techniques. Conducts activities with children on an individual and group basis to promote the development of physical, cognitive, emotional and social skills.
• Keep program facilities and equipment safe and clean, reporting any repairs and concerns to senior staff.
• Administers first aid and medication in accordance with established policy.
• Ensures a healthy and safe environment in which children can interact. Identifies and removes potential hazards.
• Maintains records, reports problems or concerns to senior staff.
• Establish positive relationships and open communication with parents/guardians

Qualifications:

• Early Childhood Educator Assistant certificate
• Current First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain
• Successful completion of Agency screening process, including a criminal record check

Hours: 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Rate of Pay: $21.86 per hour
