Job summary

BGC Okanagan is seeking casual Early Childhood Educator Assistants to provide lunch coverage for our Vernon-based childcare programs at Ellison, Alexis Park and Mission Hill sites.

Responsibilities include assisting in developing and delivering engaging activities, ensuring a safe, nurturing environment, and communicating with parents. Certification in Early Childhood Assistant is required and First Aid is necessary.

Qualifications

  • Early Childhood Assistant Certification is required.
  • Current First Aid Certification is required, or willingness to obtain.

BGC Okanagan is seeking casual Early Childhood Educator Assistants to provide lunch coverage for our Early Years Childcare programs at the Ellison, Alexis Park and Mission Hill clubs in Vernon. If you’re enthusiastic about helping children learn, grow, and thrive, this is the place for you!

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the development and implementation of programs and activities that are consistent with agency core values and core programming areas.
  • Ensure that programs develop, engage members, address healthy positive child development and provide members with a sense of belonging.
  • Provide a nurturing, fun and safe environment for children
  • Establish positive relationships and open communication with parents/guardians
  • Ensure that specific goals of the children and programs are met
  • Attends to children’s physical needs, which may include diapering, toileting, eating and sleeping.
  • Keep program facilities and equipment safe and clean, reporting any repairs and concerns to senior staff.
Qualifications:
  • Early Childhood Assistant Certification is required
  • Current First Aid Certificate, or willingness to obtain
  • Successful completion of Agency screening process, including a criminal record check

Casual/as needed

Rate of Pay:

$21.86 per hour
