Job summary

Open Door Playcare is seeking an energetic, caring educator to teach, guide, and care for our young children.

You will develop and implement child-care programs that support physical, cognitive, emotional and social development; lead activities by reading stories, singing, and facilitating creative play; plan and maintain a safe environment; and guide children in eating, dressing and toilet routines for ages infancy to 12.

Qualifications

• Minimum ECE Level 1 (or the willingness to work towards)
• Current First Aid & CPR Certificate
• Current Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children
• Lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, taking children to local points of interest and providing opportunities to express creativity through the media of art, dramatic play, music and physical activity
• Plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security and well-being of children
• Guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing and toilet habits
• Plan, organize and implement programs for children between infancy and 12 years.

Education
