Job summary

The Salvation Army in Canada is seeking an Early Childhood Educator/Registered Early Childhood Assistant to support the development and care of children in a licensed daycare setting. You will work with RECE and staff to implement age-appropriate activities, monitor health and safety, and foster inclusive environments.

Responsibilities include documenting daily activities, supporting families, and ensuring program quality.

Qualifications

• Excellent oral and written communication with children, parents and staff.
• Criminal Reference Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening required.
• Standard First Aid & Level C CPR required.
• Food Handlers Certificate is a plus; valid driver’s license is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Support the RECE and other ECA staff in facilitating development and behavior of children.
• Support implementation and evaluation of age-appropriate programs.
• Follow health, welfare and safety measures and report hazards.
• Maintain a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment.
• Collaborate with families to identify strengths and needs, and provide resources.
