Main Responsibilities:
- Communicating with clients and opposing counsel regarding matters
- Coordinating and scheduling Court dates
- Filing court documents electronically and manually
- Assembling, copying and binding court materials
- Scanning, photocopying, filing, collating and/or organizing documents as needed
- Vetting incoming calls from prospective clients, responding to general inquiries, and scheduling client appointments
- Client relations and customer service
- Opening and closing client files and maintaining current filing system
- Handling incoming and outgoing mail, faxes, couriers, phone calls and e-mail
- Provide general administrative support, e.g. arrange lunch meetings, research suppliers/service providers
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Experience as a Paralegal/Legal Assistant
- Experience arranging court filings and applications
- Understanding of BC civil litigation practices and procedures
- Must have strong client service skills
- Excellent word processing and proofreading skills
- Must be highly organized, detail-oriented and have the ability to multi-task & prioritize
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
