Job description

We, at Leggett & Platt Inc., are searching for a Maintenance Technician to fill a permanent position in London, ON, supporting our Automotive business. We are the world’s leading designer and manufacturer of seating support and comfort systems for transportation manufacturers, as well as tier one and two suppliers within the automotive industry. Our automotive products include Seating and Lumbar support, Wireless Charging, Motors and Actuators, and Mechanical Cables. What will you be doing as a Maintenance Technician?
  1. Based on technical skill (electrician, mechanic, tooling), responsible for resolving equipment breakdowns.
  2. Responsible for fulfilling the preventive maintenance plan.
  3. Responsible for continuous improvement of the preventive maintenance plan, based on lessons learned.
  4. Support during the development and installation of new manufacturing equipment.
  5. Support in the development and implementation of improvement activities for all manufacturing equipment.
  6. Ensure legal and EHS compliance regarding all changes implemented for manufacturing equipment and the facility.
  7. Fulfill assigned primary, secondary, and tertiary deputy/back-up roles as required by the business.
Requirements to be successful in this role:
  1. Trained Technician (Electrician, Mechanics, Control, Tooling, or similar).
  2. 2-3 years of working experience in the trained area.
  3. Experience in manufacturing companies is preferred.
  4. Technical expertise in the respective area.
  5. Working knowledge of MS Office.
  6. Understanding of LEAN methods (TPM, SMED, etc.) and preventive maintenance.
