Job Opportunity: Seasonal Merchandiser at Scotts Miracle-Gro

We are looking for a Seasonal Merchandiser to join our Field Sales team.

Seasonal Merchandisers report directly to a Sales Manager and work within our big box retailers, such as Home Depot, Rona+, Rona, and Reno Depot. Responsibilities include executing merchandising directives, establishing positive rapport with store personnel and customers, and relaying inventory opportunities to the Scotts Sales team.

This is a contract position starting in June and ending in August. Typical weekday shifts are from 7 am to 3:30 pm, with flexible scheduling. Weekend shifts (Saturday 10 am - 2 pm) may be required from mid-April to end of May.

Average hours per week: 16 - 24 hours

Key Responsibilities:

• Merchandise Scotts products, including restocking shelves, racks, and displays
• Clean and face products; repair or remove damaged items
• Drive in-store sales in collaboration with Scotts Sales Manager
• Assemble fixtures and displays
• Install and maintain point-of-purchase materials
• Provide product knowledge and recommendations to consumers and retail associates
• Educate consumers about products

Qualifications for Success:

• Strong initiative, self-directed, reliable, able to work independently
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
• Ability to walk, stand, climb ladders up to 4m (12ft), handle heavy lifting, and stand for extended periods
• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
• Flexible schedule, including holidays and weekends

Additional Requirements:

• Live within 25 km of Saskatoon, SK
• Valid Driver’s License, Driver’s Abstract, and Criminal Record check meeting company criteria
• Access to a car or reliable transportation during work hours
• Access to a computer, printer, and smartphone
• Steel Toe boots/shoes (green patch)
