Position:Recreation & Leisure Animator
Duration 8 to 12 weeks(Full-time, 30–35 hours per week)
Work Schedule: 35 hoursper week
Remuneration: $17 per hour

GraceVillage is seeking an enthusiastic Recreation and Leisure Animatorto join our team this summer through the Canada Summer Jobsprogram!

As a Recreation and Leisure Animator, you willbe an integral part of our Recreation and Leisure team, workingdirectly with our residents to plan, organize, and deliver engaginggroup and one-on-one activities. You will contribute to the overallwell-being and quality of life of our senior residents throughmeaningful programs and events.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, prepare, and facilitate activities fordesignated resident groups and individuals.
• Supportlarge-scale events and celebrations.
• Set up, clean up, andmaintain activity spaces and materials.
• Help coordinateresident outings and virtual visit facilitation.
• Participatein team meetings, training sessions, and resident feedbackinitiatives.
• Work closely with volunteers, special guests,and musicians for special programming.
• Contribute photos andstories for Grace Village communications.

Qualifications:

• Currently enrolled orrecently graduated from a post-secondary program in Recreation &Leisure Studies, Therapeutic Recreation, Special Care Counselling,Community Development, Kinesiology, or a related field.
• Special Care Counselling background is considered a strong asset.
• Bilingual (English/French) is preferred.
• Stronginterpersonal skills and a genuine interest in working with olderadults.
• Ability to adapt to varying resident needs withcreativity and empathy.
• First Aid and CPR certification (orwillingness to obtain).
• Driver’s license and clean drivingrecord an asset.
• Ability to lift up to 25lbs and workflexible hours (including some evenings or weekends).
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel) andcomfortable using technology.
• Be between 15–30 years old at the start of employment.
• Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person grantedrefugee protection.
• Have a valid Social Insurance Number(SIN) and be legally entitled to work in Canada.
