Lynn Lake Project

Alamos Gold’s Lynn Lake project is one of the highest-grade open pit gold deposits in Canada. The Lynn Lake project is located in northern Manitoba and consists of two primary sites, MacLellan and Gordon, which are just east of the Town of Lynn Lake. Change Management Specialist

Reporting to the Project Controls Manager, the Change Management Specialist will provide assistance in managing processes related to field work instructions and change orders within our capital projects department. This position will work closely with Construction, Engineering, Procurement and 3rd party contractors to ensure accurate documentation and proper handling of all extra costs associated with project changes, meeting contractual requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in developing and implementing a change management strategy
  • Implement Change Management processes, procedures and tools
  • Support communication efforts, both internal & external
  • Consult with and coach project team members in integrating change management activities into their area of work/responsibility, following the Delegation of Authority (DOA)
  • Collaborate and support overall corporate financial reporting and analysis
  • Lead change management assessments, verify details of change orders, and finalization documentation
  • Apply due diligence to all changes, ensure transparent and complete documentation for auditing purposes
  • Chair weekly meetings to update/discuss change orders with internal stakeholders
  • Active participation in meetings with external stakeholders
  • Distribute and monitor change management documents through approval workflows
  • Maintain registers for the ease of review for all types of scope changes
  • Update relevant forms utilized for change management when required
  • Maintain a reasonable understanding of project-based ongoing activities to assist with spending predictions, highlight change situations
  • Basic understanding of project schedules and collaboration with project-based schedule/planners to most accurately define commercial activities and validate spending/budget activity
  • Advise schedulers of the impact approved change management will have on maintained project schedules/baselines
  • Other tasks as required

The schedule for this position is based in a camp operation working on a rotational schedule with flights provided.

Education:

Technical degree or better in Construction Management.

Experience:

  • Experience in construction or mining projects with experience in project controls desirable.
  • Solid business acumen and understanding of organizational issues and challenges.
  • Familiarity with project management approaches, tools and phases of the project life cycle.
  • Project Management (PMP) or Change Management, or Quality Auditor (CQA) certification an asset.
