The Senior Contract Management Specialist in Global Site Contracting / Clinical Development Operations may be responsible for ensuring the timely and appropriate execution of Clinical Study Agreements, Confidentiality Disclosure Agreements, Master Clinical Study Agreements, Investigator Initiated Study Agreements, Facility Use Agreements, and other site-related agreements, along with associated budgets and service provider agreements linked to individual CSAs. This role works closely with R&D business teams, Clinical Development Operations, Finance, Office of Ethics & Compliance, Legal, and external partners. The specialist drafts, negotiates, and executes agreements, ensuring final contracts meet timelines, adhere to Fair Market Value, and comply with legal and regulatory standards. The SSCM acts as a contract management expert within the organization, mentors colleagues, and drives process improvements.

Responsibilities:

1. Ensure the timely preparation and execution of CSAs, CDAs, budgets, and vendor agreements. Serve as the point person for assigned countries/regions for legal, finance, and CDO.
2. Negotiate agreements and budgets with investigator sites, using templates and guidance, and liaising with legal for approvals.
3. Contribute to updates of legal and budget templates and playbooks.
4. Maintain documentation and track agreements according to AbbVie's standards.
5. Coordinate priorities with stakeholders, escalate issues diplomatically, and communicate effectively to prevent project delays.
6. Lead process improvement initiatives within the contract management function, promoting excellence and continuous improvement.
7. Demonstrate high competency in contract management, negotiation, and business standards.
8. Guide and mentor team members, triage workloads, and ensure effective team operations.
9. Partner with country managers to manage contracts efficiently and resolve issues promptly.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; healthcare, legal, or scientific background preferred.
• At least 5 years of clinical research and/or contract/budget experience, with knowledge of compliance and regulation in clinical research.
• Proven negotiation, interpersonal, and business skills.
• Strong organizational skills, ability to work independently, and manage competing priorities.
• Effective communication skills in English and local languages, with conflict resolution and problem-solving abilities.
• Proactive team player capable of maintaining high performance amidst ambiguity and change.
• Experience in line or matrix management is advantageous.
• Financial, budget, and cost management skills are desirable.
