The Opportunity
Reporting directly to the Supervisor, Energy and Environment, this role is responsible for facilitating, project managing, and tracking actions related to climate change mitigation and adaptation across the corporation. You will lead and advise on the integration of climate strategies into Town processes, plans, and operations to support Caledon’s goal of net zero emissions by 2050. You will be responsible for implementing the Town’s energy management program, managing the energy reserve fund, leading key climate strategies, and driving internal engagement through working groups and reporting mechanisms.

The Ideal Candidate
We are seeking a proactive and knowledgeable professional with a post-secondary degree in environmental studies, engineering, climate change, or a closely related field. Our ideal candidate has 3-5 years of experience in facilitating environmental, sustainability, climate change, or energy management strategies.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated project management experience, including the development of proposals, budgeting, and stakeholder facilitation. We are seeking an individual with superior communication skills that demonstrates ability to maintain and develop positive working relationships both internally and externally, strong organizational skills, a demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret data, and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
The successful candidate for Specialist, Energy and Environment will be required to work a flexible schedule, including in the office, remotely and after hours (as required).
This position offers a salary range of $85,559.51 - $106,949.39 plus a competitive benefit package.
Satisfactory passing of a criminal record check, and proof of qualifications will be required of any successful candidate(s) for this position.
