SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the Collection Development Librarian, the technician conducts bibliographic research and verification for publications to order; carries out research in the library catalogue; provides quality customer service to library patrons; handles the daily picklist and scanning; shelves, organizes, and maintains library materials. The technician also works in collaboration with the library team to support various special projects.
DETAILS OF RESPONSIBILITIES
A) BIBLIOGRAPHIC VERIFICATION AND PURCHASE MANAGEMENT
Conduct verification in the library catalogue as well as in-depth bibliographic research upon request by using various research tools. Prepare lists for orders and acquisition requests in order to do quality control. Work with book acquisition tools such as GOBI and Amalivre by checking the catalogue to ensure that the library does not buy doubles of materials.
B) CUSTOMER SERVICE
Provide customer service in conjunction with library activities. More specifically :
