JOB DESCRIPTION

As part of a cross-functional, multi-discipline team, the 6-month, full-time, temporary position for a Mechanical Engineer Project Lead will be responsible for the engineering and design of mechanical systems and equipment. This role includes coordination with internal departments, NOV organizations, and external customers or consultants. The position also involves leading design certification, regulatory reviews and approvals, code compliance, and documentation preparation and review with the customer.

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer for a temporary role, with expertise in designing hydraulic systems, oilfield service equipment, engineering design, and structural analysis.

Primary Responsibilities:
  1. Perform and supervise the design process, including calculations, analysis, modeling, and drafting to meet technical and customer requirements.
  2. Ensure design control and verification are applied.
  3. Provide technical support for the production of well servicing equipment.
  4. Develop methods to improve existing and new products, including testing methods for validation.
  5. Review and incorporate feedback from production or field to enhance designs.
  6. Coordinate, review, and approve work of Mechanical Designers/Drafters for detailed drawings.
  7. Support internal departments such as Sales, Part Sales, and Service.
  8. Coordinate engineering involvement with customers, suppliers, consultants, and management.
  9. Follow all relevant policies, procedures, and safety/environmental requirements.
  10. Participate in weekly production and project meetings.
  11. Review contracts and technical documents; assist in clarifications and interpretations.
  12. Generate technical documentation, including test procedures, manuals, and publications.
  13. Perform other tasks to meet customer expectations and company goals.
Education and Training:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent.
  • 8+ years of experience in engineering design and structural analysis.
  • Experience in designing hydraulic systems is preferred.
  • Project management experience.
  • Experience with oilfield service equipment is an asset.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks CAD software is required.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD is an asset.

HSE Requirements:
  • Work indoors.
  • Occasional work around functioning equipment.
