Job Description

We are looking for an individual that is curious about how the world really works. Someone wishing to focus their exceptional analytical and communication skills on the exciting environmental economy.

Duties and Responsibilities Include :

  • The primary responsibility will be to conduct fundamental investment research and analysis on securities within our unique Investment Universe. This will include :

Conducting company due diligence (through thorough review of filed reports, data sources, press releases, news feeds and direct Q&A with company management).

  • Building discounted cash flow models.
  • Analyzing the environmental, social and governance (ESG) history of companies, and determining how potential ESG risks should be integrated into financial models.
  • The creation of investment recommendations (outlining key information, rationale, risks, fit with existing portfolio, etc.).
  • Maintaining a broad understanding of energy transition drivers and following cleantech sector developments (including policy and technology) will be required.
  • The development of new reports and tools regarding universe, indices and portfolio characteristics to enhance analysis and decision making.
  • Supporting Mackenzie’s extensive institutional and retail sales team and marketing the Greenchip strategies to existing and potential investors.
  • The Associate Vice President, Portfolio Manager will report to the Greenchip team Co-Leads.

Qualifications

  • 10 years of investment industry experience. Quality of experience will be more important than years.
  • Buy or sell side equity experience, particularly in the energy, resources, utilities, or industrials sectors.
  • A degree in science or engineering will be highly valued.
  • Excellent written and oral English communication skills.
  • Multilingualism will also be valued.
