Job description

We are hiring a Maintenance & Reliability Engineer / EIT on behalf of our respected client for their oil and gas operations in Lloydminster. This opportunity is ideal for a detail-oriented and mechanically inclined engineer who thrives on solving problems, optimizing equipment performance, and improving asset reliability in a dynamic industrial environment.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  1. Developing and executing maintenance strategies
  2. Analyzing asset performance
  3. Supporting risk-based asset management practices
  4. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement
  5. Ensuring compliance with safety and performance standards
  6. Contributing to the overall efficiency and reliability of the facility

The successful candidate will bring hands-on experience with Management of Change (MOC) processes, proficiency in SAP, and a strong foundation in mechanical engineering principles. A P.Eng or EIT designation with APEGS is required, along with relevant experience in Engineering and/or Maintenance & Reliability within the Oil and Gas industry.

Responsibilities
  • Lead or support equipment Criticality Analysis and gap closure
  • Review project drawings (MOC) and identify data details required to update SAP Plant Maintenance Module
  • Lead equipment hierarchy and asset data development
  • Support Process Safety Critical Equipment (SCE) identification and develop Maintenance Programs
  • Utilize Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) tools to develop risk-based strategies
  • Analyze existing maintenance strategies and KPIs for improvements
  • Support or lead closure of site-specific Preventive Maintenance gaps
  • Develop Equipment Bill of Materials and identify critical & operating spare inventory
  • Support maintenance work planning, scheduling, and improvement initiatives
  • Develop training materials to enhance SAP PM utilization
  • Support KPI reporting and master data accuracy
  • Develop standards and processes for maintenance, reliability, and turnarounds
Qualifications
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Licensed Professional Engineer or EIT registered with APEGS
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred; others with relevant experience will be considered
  • 2-5 years of Engineering and/or Maintenance & Reliability experience in Oil and Gas
  • Experience in upstream Thermal (SAGD) facilities is an asset
  • Knowledge of safe work practices in oil and gas production
  • Familiarity with industry standards related to equipment reliability, safety, and risk management
  • Knowledge of SAP PM module is an asset
  • Change management experience is an asset
  • Strong communication, analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Safety sensitive position; pre-employment medical and drug assessments required
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license; driver’s abstract may be requested
Job Details
  • Type: Full-time, Monday-Friday, 40 hrs/week
  • Location: In person in Lloydminster
  • Pay: $45.00 - $67.00 per hour, with overtime pay
