About Us

Cigar Lake, located in northern Saskatchewan, is the world’s highest-grade uranium mine. The uranium produced at Cigar Lake is used for nuclear fuel products, which utilities worldwide rely on to generate safe, reliable, emissions-free nuclear power. Cameco is one of the largest global providers of the uranium fuel needed to energize a clean-air world.

The Role

Cameco has a job-share opportunity available for an enthusiastic, team-oriented healthcare professional to join our Cigar Lake team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the health of all workers through prevention, recognition, and treatment of illness and injury, utilizing your expertise in health, education, counseling, environmental health, and human relations.

In this role, you will :

  • Provide primary health care and manage the health of all on-site personnel, including employees and contractors
  • Develop and deliver educational programs related to your field
  • Provide patient counseling
  • Perform routine employee health tests
  • Manage and maintain medical monitoring programs in accordance with Cameco’s health and safety policies on site

Required :

  • Registered nurse, eligible for registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS)
  • Three or more years of relevant nursing experience, preferably in a remote setting
  • Excellent decision-making, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Ability to work a rotational schedule of two weeks on, six weeks off, and commute to site by aircraft

Recommended :

  • Certifications such as Critical and/or pre-hospital care, International Trauma Life Support, TNCC, advanced cardiac life support, audiometric technician, or occupational health nursing
