Overview

EHN Complex Needs Emergency Facility Regina supports individuals with elevated and unique needs, providing specialized emergency shelter support based on assessments of client needs.

The LPN will work as part of an interdisciplinary team, conducting comprehensive assessments and providing treatment management, guidance, and medication prescriptions in accordance with standards. The role requires working all shifts, including days, nights, and weekends.

Responsibilities and Duties
  1. Deliver client care according to the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Saskatchewan standards.
  2. Utilize the nursing process for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
  3. Formulate and implement client care plans.
  4. Safely implement physician’s orders.
  5. Administer medications to clients.
  6. Maintain current progress records legally and ethically.
  7. Orient and facilitate client involvement in addiction treatment.
  8. Decide and initiate actions in medical emergencies.
  9. Provide supportive counseling to clients and families on recovery issues.
  10. Maintain a therapeutic environment conducive to learning productive living patterns.
  11. Provide health education related to common health problems and healthy lifestyles.
  12. Coordinate client appointments and referrals.
  13. Participate in assessment, planning, and evaluation with team members.
  14. Assist with crisis intervention and addiction information.
  15. Perform other duties as assigned by the Nursing Supervisor.
Qualifications
  1. Graduate from an accredited LPN program with pharmacological training.
  2. Licensed Practical Nurse registered in Saskatchewan.
  3. Current CPR certification.
  4. Recent clinical experience, including medication administration and leadership duties.
  5. Reliable attendance record.
  6. Leadership or charge experience preferred.
  7. Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  8. Problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  9. Knowledge of proper body mechanics and ability to perform heavy lifting.
  10. Experience with team-based, person-centered care.
  11. Ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team.
