Quality Assurance Specialist-Agile
Department: Engineering (QA)
Level: JUNIOR/INTERMEDIATE
Location: Richmond Hill / Toronto, ON

QA Consultants within our client’s company are responsible for ensuring that their customers receive the best possible quality of software, by testing our client’s 'leading edge' software.

Below are the duties and responsibilities but may be changed in accordance with the needs of our client. This is not intended to be an exhaustive or exclusive list of duties. You may be required to carry out any other associated tasks to ensure the successful delivery of our client’s objectives.

Quality Assurance Consultants are responsible for:

1. Test coverage of product areas
2. Quality and test report of features in their area/s of expertise
3. Maintaining the team's portion of project schedule as well as track the progress of testing for the project
4. Writing and executing functional, regression, and performance test scripts, test cases and test reports
5. Reviewing software for adherence to specifications
6. Collaborating with product development teams to resolve defect reports and enhancement requests
7. Reviewing technical documentation for accuracy
8. Contribute to the definition and creation of necessary test tools and test environments
9. Training new staff

Minimum Requirements:

1. 2+ years of software QA experience
2. Excellent written, interpersonal and verbal English communication skills
3. Understanding of agile software development processes and SDLC in general
4. Strong manual testing skills, planning, designing, and writing test cases, using test management and issue tracking tools
5. Experience testing Enterprise Software Solutions, commercial product release packaging and testing
6. Experience using MS SQL Server and Oracle.
7. Good working knowledge of MS Word and MS Excel

Nice to Have:

1. Experience using and creating Test automation tools
2. Knowledge in one or more scripting languages such as SQL, Perl, Python, and Unix shell scripting
3. Knowledge in virtual environments specifically VMWare
4. Windows, and/or UNIX (including Solaris, AIX, HP-UX and Linux) experience
5. A B.S or M.S in Computer Science or vast IT background is strongly preferred

2. Enjoys working independently as well as in team environment. Patient, flexible and pays attention to detail
