Your role on our team:

The Service Coordinator is a dual role that includes service technician duties and shop activity coordination. Under the guidance of the Service Manager, the Service Coordinator will be the lead technician for the location, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of shop facilities and work conducted by the Service Team.

This position involves safely and efficiently performing repairs and maintenance on agricultural machinery that meet or exceed customer and CLAAS standards. The scope includes diagnostics of equipment failure in areas such as engines, electrical systems, hydraulics, transmissions, powertrain, brakes, steering, electronics, computer applications, HVAC, and the removal/repair/replacement of failed components.

Responsibilities include:
  1. Troubleshoot and repair customer machinery either in the shop or at customer locations.
  2. Diagnose machine systems and research problems.
  3. Regularly inspect the service department to identify and mitigate safety hazards, ensuring all safety regulations are followed and training is current.
  4. Perform machinery setup and adjustments.
  5. Use a laptop to enter labor hours, complete service reports, and warranty documentation.
  6. Utilize service manuals and parts books for specifications and parts lookup.
  7. Organize shop workflow, tools, and service vehicles.
  8. Collaborate with the Service Team to maintain cleanliness of the shop and service vehicles.
  9. Motivate the Service Team to work safely and efficiently, delivering quality results.
  10. Assist the Service Manager with:
    1. Creating work schedules and technician assignments.
    2. Quoting repairs for internal and customer units.
    3. Monitoring and invoicing work orders promptly.
    4. Conducting quality assurance inspections of technician work when needed.
    5. Performing duties as designated by the Service Manager.
Your profile:
  • Journeyman Diploma or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of industry experience preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record.
  • Working knowledge of agricultural equipment required.
  • Experience with troubleshooting methods.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Farm background is desirable.
  • Ability to travel within the region and work with limited supervision.
