Technical Team Leadership and Development
- Prepared to lead the technical development of local staff, supported by Dillon’s training programs and a broader team of environmental professionals.
- Provide technical and business mentorship to less experienced environmental professionals.
- Engage in team building and recruiting for the Vancouver office.
- Responsible for local team engagement and integration with Dillon’s national team of over 120 environmental professionals practicing in environmental due diligence, site assessment, soil and groundwater remediation, spill response, hydrogeology, and hazardous materials assessments.
Project Management & Design
- Support project management and coordination for local and national contaminated site teams, including phased environmental site assessments and site remediation.
- Develop remedial action plans and assist in designing site remediation options, including feasibility studies of environmental remediation and contaminant site management options.
- Conduct economic analyses, and prepare capital and operating cost estimates supporting remedial design.
- Understand environmental regulations related to contaminated sites in British Columbia and other jurisdictions (e.g., Federal Lands, neighboring provinces or territories).
- Prepare and manage health and safety plans for field projects, project contracts, agreements, and sub-contractor selection. Build and maintain relationships with clients, regulators, service providers (labs, sub-contractors), and third-party stakeholders.
- Prepare and review written reports such as Phase I / II / III ESAs, conceptual site models, remedial options evaluations, and remedial action plans.
Business Development
- Collaborate with client managers and business leads to identify, support, and pursue assessment and remediation opportunities.
- Develop winning proposals and establish expertise reputation internally and externally.
- Maintain existing client relationships and develop new ones.
- Travel as needed for client development, project research, and delivery.
Learning & Development
- Commit to ongoing professional development.
- Provide leadership, technical direction, training, coaching, and mentoring to junior staff.
- Participate actively in professional associations and contribute to Dillon’s profile.
- Engage in technical research and technology evaluations for remediation and waste management.
Qualifications
- Degree in engineering, geology, biology, ecology, hydrogeology, or related environmental science or engineering field.
- Certification through CSAP, QEP, EGBC, or equivalent.
- At least 10 years of experience in environmental consulting or related work.
- Interest in developing contaminated sites management services through staff mentorship.
- Strong conceptual skills in geological and hydrogeological evaluation.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and in multidisciplinary teams.
Experience
- Background in Phase I, II, & III ESAs, sampling programs, remediation projects, and health and safety.
- Knowledge of provincial and federal environmental legislation, including BC Environmental Code and Guidelines.
- Proven leadership in project teams and business development.
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and adapt to changing needs.
- Proficiency in proposal/report writing, presentations, and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office; familiarity with AUTOCAD, GIS, Surfer, GINT, or databases is a plus.
Compensation
$76,323 - $140,375
Dillon considers this salary range indicative and dependent on education, experience, skills, internal equity, and geographic location. We reserve the right to pay outside the range based on these factors.
