What is the opportunity?

As a Lead Cloud Operations Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of Zafin’s SaaS platform. This role involves advanced technical responsibilities, leadership in mentoring team members, driving continuous improvement, and acting as a backup to the Cloud Operations Manager. You will be a key contact across teams, providing strategic and hands-on support in operational excellence and cloud-native practices.

What will you do?

1. Lead and execute the design, deployment, and maintenance of Zafin’s SaaS environment, including infrastructure and application stacks across public cloud platforms.
2. Own the operational stability and performance of production and pre-production environments, including proactive patch management and rolling updates for infrastructure and applications.
3. Investigate, resolve, and perform root cause analysis for complex environmental and operational issues.
4. Identify and drive operational efficiencies and process improvements across the Cloud Operations team.
5. Design, build, and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows for rapid and reliable delivery.
6. Collaborate with engineering, QA, security, and product teams to implement best practices in release and environment management.
7. Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) on Zafin’s SaaS platform architecture, operational procedures, and cloud infrastructure.
8. Participate in an on-call rotation, ensuring 24/7 availability of critical services and rapid incident response.
9. Engage with internal and external stakeholders to coordinate changes, manage communications, and align with business needs.
10. Mentor junior engineers, review technical work, and promote a culture of collaboration and accountability.
11. Act as acting Cloud Operations Manager when needed, including handling escalations and representing the team.

What do you need to succeed?

Must Haves:

• 6-12 years of proven experience in infrastructure deployment and maintenance
• Experience with application security using Azure resources
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) deployment tools such as Terraform or Ansible
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Wiki
• Ability to work with user interface-based applications
• Strong knowledge of Cloud computing, especially Azure
• Hands-on experience with Azure cloud services
• Understanding of SRE best practices
• Hands-on experience with Linux OS and maintenance
• Experience with automated deployment pipelines, preferably on Azure DevOps
• Strong skills with Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift
