Job description

Convergix Automation Solutions is seeking a Continuous Improvement Specialist to join our expanding team. Reporting to the VP of PMO, Continuous Improvement, and Quality, the successful candidate will plan, develop, and implement Continuous Improvement initiatives within CGX Solutions using Lean Six Sigma tools. You will lead cross-functional teams to accomplish these projects and facilitate activities such as lessons learned, value-stream mapping, rapid improvement Kaizen events, and barrier elimination.

What does a typical day look like?
  1. Assist in prioritizing initiatives
  2. Establish measurement criteria, quantify targeted results, and identify benefits
  3. Improve processes by waste elimination
  4. Maintain the database of continuous improvement initiatives
  5. Create clear problem statements and perform gap analyses
  6. Identify metrics and benchmarks for tracking improvements
  7. Train and empower teams to lead projects and share best practices
  8. Motivate and guide team members with a sense of urgency and focus
  9. Present updates on project results regularly
  10. Evaluate project effectiveness
  11. Achieve annual cost savings targets that surpass overhead costs
  12. Train others in Lean and Six Sigma methodologies
  13. Coach and mentor staff engaged in process improvement
  14. Proactively identify opportunities for improvement and serve as a change catalyst
  15. Build strong relationships across all business functions
  16. Lead troubleshooting and resolution of machine/system failures
What qualifies you for this opportunity?
  1. Bachelor’s degree or 5+ years of Lean Six Sigma experience in various processes
  2. Six Sigma Black Belt certification preferred
  3. Led at least 10 improvement projects or Kaizen events
  4. Ability to learn company systems and tools
  5. Experience in custom engineered solutions and factory automation is ideal
  6. Proficient in Microsoft Office and MiniTab; LeanDNA experience preferred
  7. 3+ years supervisory experience preferred
  8. Reliable transportation and willingness to travel; ability to travel within US and Canada
  9. Travel approximately 50%, depending on proximity to Convergix locations
