Reporting to the Design Director, the successful candidate will proactively identify and maintain a roadmap of opportunities across the Experience Design organization to foster collaboration, unity, efficiency, and effectiveness. The Sr Manager will also lead 1-2 ICs and collaborate with Director-level & Head of Experience Design to scope, initiate, and execute ongoing operational training initiatives.

The role involves designing and creating digital experiences prioritizing users and business needs over technological constraints. The candidate will understand user flows, interaction models, navigation, and usage, applying user-centered design processes to craft satisfying experiences. Responsibilities include conducting user research, developing wireframes and task flows, collaborating with development teams, and applying graphic design, programming, and web technologies.

  1. Work with cross-functional teams including engineering, product management, and user research.
  2. Select and implement optimal design techniques and usability tests.
  3. Gather requirements and translate them into sketches, wireframes, visual designs, and HTML/CSS prototypes.
  4. Use wireframes, flows, sketches, and customer journeys to communicate designs and foster team collaboration.
  5. Create prototypes to convey initial ideas.
  6. Transform user and business needs into digital experiences.
  7. Develop sitemaps, information architecture, wireframes, and prototypes.
  8. Promote a culture aligned with BMO's purpose, values, and strategy, exemplifying these in all actions.
  9. Ensure behaviors that support diversity and inclusion.
  10. Connect work to BMO’s purpose, set goals, define outcomes, and ensure accountability.
  11. Build collaborative, high-value teams across functions.
  12. Attract, retain, and develop top talent.
  13. Enhance team performance through recognition, coaching, and managing issues.
