Position Overview

The Aircraft Maintenance Engineer performs first and second line aircraft maintenance on the Cormorant Helicopter to support Canadian Search and Rescue operations. Responsibilities include servicing, inspection, removal, cleaning, repair, installation, adjustment, flight testing, and certification of aircraft mechanical, structural, electrical systems, and ground support equipment.

What You Will Do
  1. Perform maintenance on aircraft systems and ground support equipment.
  2. Support ramp duties such as pre/post flight inspection, marshalling, parking, towing, fueling/defueling, and handling mission equipment and crash response.
  3. Conduct ground runs of auxiliary power units, where qualified.
  4. Support maintenance, ferry, and deployment operations, including travel to other bases and remote sites.
  5. Provide on-the-job training and participate in training sessions for development and recertification.
  6. Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  7. Follow company policies and procedures.
  8. Supervise other employees as required.
  9. Perform additional tasks as needed.
What You Will Bring
  1. Graduate of a recognized aircraft maintenance program with a current Aircraft Maintenance Engineers license or equivalent experience.
  2. Minimum of 3 years’ aviation maintenance experience.
  3. Thorough knowledge of aircraft systems, including power plants, flight controls, hydraulics, pneumatics, environmental systems, and power distribution.
  4. Experience with special tools, corrosion control, and reading technical documentation.
  5. Ability to perform Non-destructive Inspection.
  6. Proficiency with standard and specialized computer programs.
  7. Valid Class 5 Driver’s License.
