The Fundy Ocean Research Center for Energy (FORCE) is Canada’s leading research facility for tidal stream technology, located on the shores of the Bay of Fundy—home to the world’s highest tides. Our work supports the advancement of marine renewable energy and environmental innovation at a time when clean energy solutions are more urgent than ever.
We are currently seeking a Field Systems Technician with strong electrical and mechanical capabilities to support the development, integration, and maintenance of FORCE’s technical systems. This is a rare opportunity to work on real-world applications of marine technology and renewable energy infrastructure alongside a multidisciplinary team of experts.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting to the Technical Director, the Field Systems Technician will play a key role in the electrical and mechanical design, assembly, and operation of FORCE’s Ocean Sensors Innovation Platform (OSIP) project and other monitoring systems.
This position offers the chance to work with specialized sensor platforms and data communication systems for one of the most dynamic tidal environments on Earth. It demands a practical, technically strong individual who thrives on solving problems and building systems that must operate in challenging marine conditions.
The ideal candidate will be a flexible, collaborative team member who can adapt to evolving project requirements and take initiative in a dynamic technical environment.
