As a Project Director working in the Building and Operations team at Pomerleau Construction, you will be the driving force in spearheading our ambitious initiatives to meet and exceed project goals, execution, and workforce management. You will manage large-scale building and infrastructure projects—ranging from $1.5 million to over $1 billion—and collaborate with cross-functional teams, architects, engineers, contractors, and clients to ensure seamless project execution.

What You Will Do

1. Proactively grow and maintain strong relationships with team members, trade partners, consultants, and clients to achieve project goals and vision.
2. Support your project management teams in developing and driving the construction schedule to meet or exceed completion dates and milestones.
3. Apply your problem-solving skills to recommend innovative methods that increase effectiveness and efficiency, ensuring project excellence and productivity.
4. Ensure compliance with our first-class Quality Program through a proactive approach.
5. Utilize your experience in trade partner selection and coordination of their activities.
6. Manage project budgets, costs, and purchasing, applying your financial management expertise.
7. Mentor and role model for your project team, providing coaching and guidance for career development.
8. Act as a subject matter expert in risk management to minimize project risks.
9. Compile and complete company-wide project reports for executive teams and clients.
10. Demonstrate leadership in health, safety, and environmental protection on the project, ensuring standards are met and promoted.

This role could be for you if you have

1. 8-10+ years of experience on large-scale construction projects.
2. A university degree or diploma in Engineering or a related field.
3. Strong business acumen, knowledge of project management methodologies, financial management, Canadian building codes, and related legislation.
4. Experience in the construction industry with solid knowledge of project methodologies and codes.
5. A proven track record of team leadership, coaching, and mentoring.
6. Effective influencing skills and the ability to resolve client, project, and technical issues successfully.
