Position Summary

The Education Assistant supports student learning and wellbeing in our Learning Strategies Department. This role involves providing tailored support to help students succeed academically, socially, and emotionally.

Reporting to the Learning Strategies Coordinator and Senior School Principals, the assistant collaborates with teachers, specialists, and parents to implement personalized strategies and accommodations, requiring a strong understanding of student development and inclusive education practices.

Requirements
  • Education Assistant Certificate or equivalent
  • Certification in Level B assessments (asset)
  • Experience with RTI, differentiation, and executive functioning (assets)
  • Knowledge of BC Inclusive Education policy and current research
  • Experience creating and implementing Support Plans
  • Experience in an independent school (asset)
  • Computer skills: Google Classroom, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Gmail
  • Professional practice, emotional intelligence, and effective communication skills
