DESCRIPTION

The incumbent will be responsible for managing inventory effectively and maintaining sufficient availability levels within the designated geographical area. The role involves negotiating with suppliers on securing additional space, backorders, special requests, and relocations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Monitor and analyze hotel inventory promptly to maximize the usage of all contracted space.
  2. Develop and maintain a solid understanding of hotel offerings, location, access, and relationships for risk assessment, passenger assignment, and support.
  3. Build and sustain relationships with suppliers to support inventory purchasing.
  4. Understand key client and market inventory requirements, providing additional support as needed for arrangements made by Jonview.
  5. Respond to client booking requests when space is unavailable, aiming for a 20-hour turnaround.
  6. Request additional space under the same contract terms to support continued sales for suspended bookings.
  7. Negotiate alternative arrangements if a confirmed booking is rejected by a supplier, securing the best outcome for Jonview at no extra cost.
  8. Negotiate with suppliers on rack rates, upgrades, and special requests, including rates, allotments, and terms.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  1. College Diploma.
  2. 2 to 3 years of industry experience with knowledge of Canadian destinations.
  3. Proficiency in computer systems and data entry.
  4. Strong negotiation skills and the ability to influence others.
  5. Good problem-solving skills, with the ability to make timely, quality decisions; creativity; results-oriented.
  6. Excellent oral and written communication skills in English and French, with a professional phone manner.
  7. Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  8. Ability to manage time, processes, and systems; familiarity with CCRS system is an asset.
  9. Relevant functional and technical knowledge; quick learner.
