Disney Cruise Line (DCL), a division of The Walt Disney Company, operates a six-ship fleet of premium class cruise liners and is the industry leader in family vacations at sea. DCL Entertainment (Toronto) is a subsidiary of The Walt Disney Company Canada and serves as the rehearsal headquarters for DCL’s award-winning theatrical productions. Within a state-of-the-art entertainment rehearsal facility, DCL’s production teams create memorable family entertainment that is enchanting and magical – delighting audiences of all ages with Disney storytelling.

Based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, reporting to the Production Manager, the Production Supervisor will organize, coordinate, operate, and schedule all rehearsals for multiple casts.

Responsibilities:
  1. Create and maintain daily rehearsal, fittings, and crossover schedules in collaboration with shoreside and shipboard teams.
  2. Manage in-studio rehearsals and breaks, ensuring the room stays focused and on schedule.
  3. Handle Contract Riders for designated cast members.
  4. Conduct meetings, presentations, reviews, and briefs with cast leadership teams regarding creative, technical, and operational procedures.
  5. Partner with the Resident Director and Creative Team to identify cast leadership.
  6. Hold informational meetings with cast regarding shipboard procedures.
  7. Communicate updates in a timely manner.
  8. Manage scripts, scores, and music changes.
  9. Maintain and update rehearsal/calling scripts with technical cues, lighting, sound, props, scenic, effects, blocking, and production notes.
  10. Oversee rehearsal props, set pieces, and studio organization.
  11. Monitor compliance with company policies and performance expectations.
  12. Foster positive interactions among cast members.
  13. Deliver or coordinate delivery of HR-related courses.
  14. Ensure rehearsal spaces are prepared for each session.
  15. Coordinate stunt rehearsals and logistics.
  16. Travel to ships for technical rehearsals or show runs for 2-3 weeks as needed.
  17. Adhere to maritime sailing and seafarer guidelines, including sailing onboard ships as part of the crew.
Qualifications:
  1. Post-secondary education or equivalent experience in entertainment stage management or related theatre fields.
  2. Minimum of 4 years’ experience in entertainment management or production support roles.
  3. Stage management experience with calling automation cues, scenic lifts, performer flying, pyro, follow spots, and audio (show control).
  4. Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  5. Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  6. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and in teams.
  7. Proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, and Keynote is preferred.
  8. Leadership and scheduling skills demonstrated.
  9. Experience in Musical Theatre and understanding of Disney Character & Theatrical operations are assets.
  10. Flexibility to work weekends and long days during busy periods.
