Location

This position is based in our Burnaby, BC, Canada office, with travel required as business needs dictate.

Responsibilities

  • Support the lead in the pursuit and management of design-build projects, including :

developing project budgets, schedules, staffing plans.

  • writing, reviewing, and administering design engineering contracts.
  • managing deliverables, quality and compliance for the assigned project.
  • ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with Kiewit’s Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that designs are aligned with our processes and meet our customers' needs.
  • Interface and maintain relationships with external design partners and the construction team’s project leadership.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest design trends and technologies, and apply this knowledge to improve our design process.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of engineering or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of design engineering or design management experience, with roles of increasing responsibility.
  • Technical background as a design engineer in at least one of the typical infrastructure disciplines : civil, structural, geotechnical, rail / transit systems or architecture. Disciplines outside of this area will not be considered for this job posting.
  • P. Eng or U.S. Professional Engineering registration is required, or the ability to obtain registration within 6 months from date of hire. Ability to obtain in other provinces / states as projects may require.
  • Design-build experience is an asset but not required.
  • Experience in design delivery of infrastructure projects from project inception to completion, including support during construction.
  • Project management, including commercial management and project controls, is an asset but not required.
  • Infrastructure Facilities experience is an asset (not offices, commercial or large buildings).
  • Ability to travel to US and Canada as business dictates.

  • Work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within given deadlines. Work overtime and weekends as required.
  • May work at various different locations and conditions may vary.

Base Compensation : $130,000 - $160,000
