A leading health authority in Victoria is seeking a Senior Cook to oversee food services, develop menus, and manage kitchen operations. The ideal candidate will have relevant certifications and experience in a rehabilitation setting, ensuring quality nutrition for residents. This role also involves administrative tasks and requires effective communication and supervisory skills.

The requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.
Reporting to the Clinical Co-ordinator, the Senior Cook is responsible for all aspects of food services in assigned areas. This position aims to meet the nutritional needs of residents by planning and developing menus and recipes, including special diets. The Senior Cook will work with residents following rehabilitation plans to develop meal preparation, cooking, and kitchen organizational skills. The role also involves administrative duties such as staff scheduling, ordering and maintaining provisions, monitoring expenditures, and supervising other Cooks. Travel is a requirement of this position, and transportation arrangements must meet the operational needs of Island Health, which may include the use of a personal vehicle.
