Must Haves

Description
The role involves technical expertise and coordination in administration, monitoring, management, implementation, and support of:
- Desktops, network, and server environments.
- Ambulance Communication Centre (ACC) integrated 911 solutions such as CAD, radio, phone, GIS, and paging.
Additionally, the candidate will provide subject matter expertise in multiple technology projects, including radio, telecom, satellite systems, and digital voice recording, and will support 911 dispatch centres' emergency COOP activation plans. The position requires 24/7 on-site and remote support for emergency ambulance dispatching equipment across the province, ensuring compliance with the Land Ambulance Act.
Responsibilities
- Provide senior technical expertise and project leadership in developing and maintaining cost-effective IT solutions.
- Advise clients and leverage public sector IT solutions to meet program goals.
- Possess a technical diploma or degree in electronics technology or equivalent experience.
- Have good knowledge of voice/data/radio systems, network topologies, and IT security policies.
- Analyze results, perform cost-benefit analyses, and use RF test equipment.
- Understand vehicle electrical systems related to radio installation.
- Manage desktop hardware, operating systems, LAN, server configurations, and security threats.
- Follow government policies, ITIL practices, and ensure interoperability of systems.
- Support emergency health services with knowledge of standards, policies, and interface requirements.
- Participate in training delivery and develop training materials.
- Apply operational disciplines, negotiation, conflict resolution, and change management skills.
- Stay updated on new telecommunications technologies and support installation, testing, and maintenance of radio and vehicle electrical systems.
- Interpret and apply relevant legislation.
- Travel across the province for project support and training.
