An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Pricing leadership team as a Senior Pricing Manager , focusing on the delivery of our key strategic objectives. We’re looking for a candidate who has extensive technical pricing experience and is keen to provide subject matter expertise and leadership across the pricing team.

The role is a hybrid role, therefore will involve a mix of working from home and from our Halifax office.

What will I be doing?

  • Collaborating with the Head of Technical Pricing and senior stakeholders to implement modelling and rating changes that improve loss ratio, risk selection, and business growth.
  • Leading and developing a diverse team of pricing specialists; ensuring achievement of expected competencies and behaviours in line with company values, and promoting a culture of continuous improvement and agility.
  • Enhancing pricing capabilities, establishing best practices, and ensuring proper governance and controls.
  • Leveraging internal and external datasets, including broker-specific data, to improve predictive pricing models and achieve profit and growth goals.
  • Representing Pricing in key forums as a subject matter expert, providing technical support and simplifying complex information for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Maintaining expertise in Pricing and Data science tools (e.g., Willis Towers Watson Radar, SQL, Python, Databricks).
  • Keeping up with market and technological trends to innovate and optimize existing practices and infrastructure.

  • Expert understanding of predictive modelling and machine learning techniques applicable to the technical rating of motor and home products.
  • Exceptional critical thinking skills and intellectually curious, with the ability to solve problems.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivation, with an ability to lead, manage and develop individuals and teams, remaining efficient under pressure.
  • An ability to work collaboratively with senior stakeholders, and adapt to the changing needs of the business in a competitive market.
  • Project management skills would be a distinct advantage.
  • Minimum 2 : 1 bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in an appropriate numerical subject, or equivalent experience.
  • Evidence of continued learning to keep apace of advancements in analytical techniques, data science, AI and supporting technologies.
