Are you passionate about pricing strategy? Do you stay apprised of cutting-edge and best practice methods in pricing? We are currently seeking a Manager Pricing Strategy, Fresh to join our Merchandising Solutions team. Reporting to the Director Pricing Strategy, you will play a pivotal role in developing and executing pricing strategies, maintaining and analyzing pricing data, and overseeing execution of retail price adjustments to drive business growth.

This is an 18-month contract hybrid role and there is an in-office requirement of 3 days a week.

Here’s where you’ll be focusing:

As a Manager Pricing Strategy, you will:

  • Lead and inspire the pricing team to design and maintain pricing strategies for national Full Service & Community banners, Related Business banners, and E-commerce, prioritizing a “Stores First” approach
  • Analyze data and provide category-driven recommendations to the business
  • Collaborate with Category Management & Operations to execute pricing strategies effectively
  • Govern pricing rules and guardrails to maintain pricing integrity
  • Partner with Business Intelligence to understand customer insights and competitive market data to inform pricing decisions
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and best practices, driving efficiency in pricing processes
  • Execute budget plans to meet performance targets, showcasing financial acumen in decision-making, forecasting, and resource planning
  • Cultivate a positive and effective team environment, fostering a culture of collaboration and growth with strong communicative skills
  • Make informed decisions, assess impacts, and mitigate risks for key stakeholders
  • Set and align on targets for Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure individual and team success
  • Manage direct reports including: selection, orientation, training, performance management, succession planning and compensation
What you have to offer:
  • An undergraduate degree and a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience
  • Strong working knowledge of category management functions and principles
  • Understanding of industry, its competitive environment and appropriate pricing strategies
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and anticipate consumer, competitor, and market trends and incorporate them into pricing strategy decisions
  • Strength in data collection & analysis
  • Ability to understand and maintain multiple retail strategies across banners
  • Ability to influence change and communicate business strategies
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
