About this role

We are looking for an Accountant to join our Finance Team.

This role involves recording and maintaining business transactions, managing bank and general ledger reconciliations, processing accounts payable and receivables, and preparing analysis reports. The Accountant will report directly to the Finance Leader. There is also an opportunity to engage in data analysis for operations BI to optimize business decisions.

You Will:

• Maintain books of accounts, including preparing cheques, coding and posting invoices, preparing deposits, recording business transactions and journal entries, bank reconciliations, verifying and processing employee expense reimbursements, etc.
• Oversee accounts receivable and collections.
• Manage bank and account reconciliations.
• Assist in maintaining policy and procedure documentation for complex financial and accounting issues.
• Maintain an accurate trail of supporting documentation and schedules for all financial activities.
• Maintain a systematic filing system to support bookkeeping and financial records.
• Assist in month-end closing, produce internal reports, and support year-end schedules for external auditors.

Qualifications

• University degree in accounting or finance required; CPA certification is a plus.
• At least 1 year of experience in accounting and bookkeeping.
• High responsibility, self-motivation, good organizational skills, efficiency, performance-oriented, time management, and prioritization skills.
• Experience with QuickBooks and Circle language is an asset.
• Advanced computer skills and proficiency in MS Office.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; fluency in Mandarin is an asset.
