Job description

The Market Development Director will drive the growth and expansion of our clients' mineral processing solutions across existing and new markets. This role involves strategic planning, interpretation of market analysis, and effective collaboration with their regional locations and respective sales and management teams to align on global goals. The director will focus on entering new territories and industries while enhancing sales within current markets, ensuring cohesive portfolio management and unified sales strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Market Expansion:

  • Identify and evaluate opportunities for entering profitable industrial sectors in developing regions for their key products.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive market entry strategies, building on market research, competitive analysis, and resource allocation.
  • Define product portfolios and pricing for defined market entry strategies, aligning with supply chain management to secure profitable business.
  • Work closely with regional leadership and sales teams to ensure strategies are adaptable to regional markets.
  • Collaborate effectively with marketing to ensure alignment in sales and marketing initiatives.

Sales Growth and Portfolio Management:

  • Drive sales initiatives to increase revenue in existing markets and industries.
  • Lead product management and R&D teams to ensure the product portfolio meets market demands and company objectives.
  • Monitor sales performance metrics, analyze trends, and adjust strategies to achieve targets.

Cross-Regional Alignment:

  • Ensure consistent sales strategies and objectives across all locations
  • Facilitate regular communication and coordination between regional teams to share best practices and align efforts.
  • Develop training programs to ensure all teams are informed about global strategies and product offerings.

Industry-Specific Approach:

  • Develop tailored sales strategies for different industries to maximize penetration and growth.
  • Understand the specific needs, challenges, and opportunities within various industries and ensure that regional teams are equipped to meet those needs with the company’s solutions.
  • Collaborate with marketing to create industry-specific sales enablement materials and campaigns that resonate with target customers.

Reporting and Analysis:

  • Provide regular reports on market trends, sales performance, and strategic initiatives to leadership.
  • Utilize data analytics to assess the effectiveness of sales strategies and make data-driven decisions.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years in sales and market development within the mineral processing or related industrial sector, with at least 5 years in a leadership role overseeing multiple regions or locations.
