Job Description:

We are seeking an Accounting Leader to join our Finance Team at our Saint John, NB office. This position will oversee two team members — the Credit Coordinator and the Accounts Receivable Specialist — and report directly to the Finance Director.

Main Responsibilities:

• Manage accounting functions including General Ledger support for Treasury, Fixed Assets, Tax, Inter-Company transactions, and Project Management.
• Perform Month-End Financial Closings and Financial Reporting using SAP and Oracle.
• Ensure compliance with local tax regulations and obligations.
• Assist the Local AFC in reviewing and validating the Monthly Reporting package (Canada GAAP/IFRS) for applicable companies.
• Streamline accounting processes.
• Prepare statutory and tax reports as required by local authorities.
• Provide data, reports, analyses, and reviews for internal and external stakeholders.
• Participate in Internal Audit engagements and coordinate with External Auditors.
• Develop and maintain Company Reporting Process Policies, ensuring compliance with standard reporting practices and deadlines.

Ideal Candidate:

Holds a Bachelor's degree in Economics, Business Management, or Accountancy, with:

• Knowledge of local GAAP, IFRS, and international accounting standards.
• Experience in manufacturing environments.
• Minimum of 5 years in similar roles.
• At least 3 years of experience in a Big 4 firm (Assurance or Transactions & Deals).
• Chartered Accountant designation.
• Strong English communication skills (both written and verbal).
• Proficiency in Canadian Accounting standards and IFRS, with a good understanding of local tax regulations.
• Experience with SAP modules FI, CO, AA, MM.
• Familiarity with Oracle FCCS Consolidation module.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint.
