Job description

We are seeking an emerging Financial Analyst who enjoys multi-tasking, business partnering, and analysis, and is looking for a stable, long-term career within a large, reputable public company with global operations. This role involves working closely with a seasoned global finance team and directly supporting the IT function.

Who - the Company:

Our client is a prominent global organization operating in over 50 countries with more than 10,000 employees. They are known for attracting top talent and offering engaging, challenging work in a professional setting. Swim Recruiting is assisting in this key recruitment effort.

What - the Opportunity:

On behalf of our client, SWIM is recruiting a Financial Analyst, IT Function. This newly created position is a result of organizational growth and expanding business needs. The role involves invoicing, budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, P&L analysis, preparing reports for IT leadership, and analyzing costs related to licenses, subscriptions, vendor agreements, and equipment.

The Financial Analyst will report to the FP&A Manager and collaborate with finance (FP&A, corporate development, accounting) and IT colleagues. The role requires proficiency in systems like Excel, Power BI, and ERP. There are significant opportunities for career advancement within the company. Who - the Candidate:

Ideal candidates will have 1 to 3 years of relevant experience in analytical roles, preferably within a large, global, public company. Experience in the tech sector or supporting IT functions is highly desirable but not mandatory; a strong interest in technology is also valued. Candidates should understand accounting basics, including debits & credits, P&L, and accounting's role in FP&A. Strong communication skills and technical proficiency, especially in Excel (pivot tables, lookups, Power Query, macros), are essential. Experience with Power BI and ERP systems is advantageous. A post-secondary degree in finance, commerce, business, or accounting is required, and support for CFA certification is preferred.

Where:

The position is based in downtown Vancouver, accessible via rapid transit. The initial onboarding will be in-office full-time, transitioning to a hybrid model of 1-2 days remote work per week.

Compensation:

The total package includes a base salary of $64,000 to $75,000, commensurate with experience and skills, plus performance bonuses, professional development support (e.g., CFA exam), RRSP matching, comprehensive health benefits, and other perks. Details to be discussed with SWIM.
