Electrical Design Engineer

Responsibilities
- Contribute to complex projects involving product or tool design, including spacecraft relative navigation sensors, processing platforms, vision systems, and LIDAR solutions.
- Perform circuit card level design and testing for both analog and digital circuits.
- Assist in the architecture development of new camera and sensor platforms.
- Prepare and maintain comprehensive design documentation.
- Conduct and document engineering analyses such as Derating, Worst Case, Reliability, Radiation, EMI/EMC, FMECA, and Power Budget.
- Investigate and document hardware anomalies and failures.
- Perform Acceptance Test Procedures on engineering and flight hardware models.
- Mentor less experienced staff members.
- Assist in project estimation activities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Basic Qualifications
- B.Sc in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- 15+ years of related experience; minimum 8 years in relevant roles.
- Desirable: Experience in space, aerospace, or military design; high-reliability systems.
- Strong background in digital and analog design, including microprocessors, memories, sensors, op-amps, filters, and point-of-load power supplies.
- Familiarity with radiation analysis and EEE-INST-002 standards.
- Knowledge of EMI/EMC compliance issues.
- Experience with FPGA design and PCB implementation, including RTL experience is beneficial.
- Understanding of power supply design.
- Proficiency with LTSpice simulation tools.
- Experience with requirements definition, verification, and validation methodologies.
- Awareness of component qualification concerns and Design For Manufacturing practices.
- Experience with Lidar or laser-related design and testing.
- Skills in schematic capture (preferably Orcad), board layout (preferably Allegro), signal integrity, and power analysis.
- Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines while ensuring design reliability.
- Strong debugging skills in laboratory settings.
- Excellent documentation skills.
- Effective communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Motivated team player with initiative, problem-solving skills, and adaptability.
