About the Opportunity:

Driscoll’s is the leading supplier of fresh berries in the world. As part of the Driscoll’s of the America’s Accounting team, the Senior Accountant will play a direct role in supporting the continued success of Driscoll’s largest business unit. The Senior Accountant is a core member of the Accounting team and performs accounting duties of a complex nature requiring professional experience and knowledge of accounting principles. This role provides accounting expertise and is responsible for a wide range of activities such as interpreting data, analyzing reports, and recommending actions based on key business drivers.

Responsibilities:

• Manage activities in collaboration with Corporate Accounting including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Payroll, Property Accounting, and General Accounting to support growth.
• Prepare journal entries, maintain ledgers, reconcile and analyze general, intercompany, and subsidiary accounts.
• Prepare profit and loss variance analysis and support audit schedules.
• Assist with compliance reporting requirements.
• Review, assess, and document internal controls for processes and procedures.
• Assist in developing and installing accounting systems, procedures, and controls.
• Ensure activities comply with policies, procedures, and GAAP.
• Recommend and document process improvements and standards.
• Participate in cross-training to ensure operational continuity.
• Perform daily and monthly accounting processes.
• Calculate month-end accruals, research issues, and correct variances.
• Assist in month-end close and prepare deliverables.
• Escalate issues timely to management.
• Identify process improvements and risk areas, propose solutions.
• Produce accurate financial statements and analysis.
• Communicate financial results to regional managers and support departments.
• Maintain professional and ethical interactions with all stakeholders.

Candidate Profile:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or equivalent.
• 5-8 years of professional accounting experience.
• Knowledge of U.S. GAAP, accounting terminology, and experience with computerized systems.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, intermediate level.
• Ability to work independently, initiate ideas, train others, and meet deadlines.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required.
• Valid passport and ability to travel internationally.

Compensation & Benefits:

The estimated salary range for the Senior Accountant is $85,000 to $110,000 USD.
