About the team you are joining:

IATA’s objective is to become the center of excellence and reference for safety, security, and operational data. As such, we are looking for a Senior Manager, Flight Operations Data eXchange project to join the Global Aviation Data Management (GADM) Team.

The incumbent’s role will be to develop and launch a new data exchange program related to flight operations and aircraft-specific data. This is a six-month project-based position with a possibility of being extended up to and including a permanent position.

We are looking for someone with expertise in technical product development as well as airline flight operations.

What your day would be like:

Develop and Implement Data Solutions: Lead the creation of business and technical requirements for data ingestion solutions (API) and collaborate with IT and project teams for implementation.

Optimize Data Acquisition: Assess data acquisition alternatives and recommend approaches to optimize the cost of implementation, ensuring efficient and cost-effective solutions.

Define Data Standards: Establish and monitor the requisite data format and quality standards, ensuring consistent submission of operational data from participating airlines.

Monitor Data Infrastructure: Oversee data pipelines and infrastructure to ensure seamless data flow and integrity.

Collaborate Across Teams: Work with various teams to integrate collected data into other IATA programs and projects.

Stakeholder Management: Engage and manage internal stakeholders to secure project support and ensure timely delivery.

Compliance and Policy Adherence: Ensure the project aligns with legal standards and company policies.

Process Improvement: Recommend, develop, and document processes to enhance data quality and operational efficiency.

Airline Acquisition and Program Promotion: Evaluate strategies for airline onboarding, promote the program’s benefits, and recruit airline members.

We would love to hear from you if you have:

• University degree in aviation, engineering, management, business administration, or IT.
• 5-7 years of solid work experience in Program Development and Program Management.
• Aviation background and good understanding of airline flight operations (e.g., Flight Dispatcher, Flight Operations Engineer, Weight & Balance Specialist, etc.) is a major asset.
• Solid technical background and experience with all stages of a data project development.
• The ability to start working at IATA Montreal in November 2024.
