Gateway Seminary is seeking a Chief Financial Officer to provide strategic leadership in finance, human resources, and IT. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in financial management and a strong commitment to the Seminary's mission and values.
Position Summary : This position provides strategic and administrative leadership for all business and administrative support functions for the Seminary within the policies and guidelines of the Seminary. This includes direct oversight of Finance, Human Resources, Information Technology, and Facilities. This position serves as the Chief Financial Officer of the Seminary and is a member of the President’s Cabinet.

Supervisory Responsibilities :
Manages subordinate employees and is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this unit. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Seminary's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Strong commitment to the mission of Gateway Seminary, and be an active member of a Southern Baptist Church. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and / or ability required. Skills Education and / or Experience : Master’s degree in business administration, accounting, or finance. CPA designation is a plus; and eight to ten years’ experience in financial management is essential and non-profit experience is preferred.
Language Skills : Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner. Ability to read and interpret documents such as customer guidelines and procedures information. Ability to speak effectively before customers or employees of organizations. Ability to communicate effectively and specifically to address problems with management. Ability to lead and influence people or groups of people toward the achievement of goals.
Mathematical Skills : Ability to perform advanced quantitative analysis and calculate key financial ratios. Able to read and assess published financial statements.
Reasoning Ability : Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions and regulations / laws furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form pertaining to the industry. Strong negotiation skills.
Computer Skills : To perform this job successfully requires knowledge of the Microsoft office suite (Microsoft Access Database; Microsoft Outlook; Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word); must have an aptitude for learning and working with computer applications (Jenzabar).
Other Skills and Abilities : Must be available for limited travel (less than five trips annually).
