Invest Alberta is seeking a team-oriented finance student to support key accounting functions. The role involves managing accounts payable, assisting with financial reconciliations, and contributing to process improvements. This is an 8-month term position starting September 1, 2025.
Are you a team-oriented individual who enjoys a supporting role where timeliness and accuracy are crucial? In this role, reporting to the Controller, you will be a key member of the Finance team, contributing to a positive and energetic team environment while supporting key accounting functions for Invest Alberta Corporation (IAC).
Support various financial reporting analyses for management.
Assist in developing and delivering workshops to promote fiscal stewardship.
Identify ways to improve processes and systems.
Assist with finance process improvement and software implementation projects.
Perform additional tasks as required.
Ideally, you are a business student in finance, accounting, or general business, with at least second-year standing. Proficiency in Microsoft 365 (SharePoint, Excel, Word, etc.), strong attention to detail, organization, analytical, and problem-solving skills are essential. Familiarity with financial models and complex formulas, the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and strong interpersonal and professional writing skills are required. Proof of enrollment at a post-secondary institution is mandatory.
