Job Summary :

Responsible for creating sales utilizing exceptional customer service and knowledge of the La-Z-Boy selling process, products, and services. Strive to build long-term customer relationships that lead to increased sales and profitability. Develop awareness of interior design through practical experience, observation, and interaction with a La-Z-Boy Designer.

Training Pay : $20 per hour for 2-6 weeks (no commissions)

Average Annual Earning Potential After Training : $50,000 - $70,000 (inclusive of base and commission)

Job Description :

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties as assigned) :

• Drive sales by selling furniture, accessories, and services offered by La-Z-Boy
• Promote the Design program & assist the Designer to achieve sales goals
• Execute the La-Z-Boy selling process, providing a positive customer experience
• Develop sales skills including approach, rapport building, needs discovery, presentations, objections, closing, follow-up, and after-sale service
• Maximize store promotions, marketing initiatives, and grassroots programs
• Maintain strong knowledge of product features and benefits

Design Program :

• Schedule professional home consultations for customized room designs
• Support design-related functions in the store

Customer Focus :

• Provide high-level customer service to all customers
• Ensure positive customer experiences using good service skills and product knowledge
• Use Podium for customer follow-up and satisfaction
• Make sound business decisions to promote satisfaction and teamwork
• Respond promptly to calls and emails
• Handle customer issues / complaints with appropriate solutions

People :

• Maintain positive relationships with store employees
• Assist in training and developing new peers
• Promote a culture of sales and service

Operational Excellence :

• Maintain store appearance and displays
• Complete order information accurately and keep records
• Complete daily system logs
• Show enthusiasm and urgency with team and customers
• Maintain knowledge of standards, products, and systems
• Handle opening and closing of the store

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS :

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Previous selling experience preferred
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Strong interpersonal, persuasion, and negotiation skills
• Effective time management and teamwork skills
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Attention to detail and proficiency in Microsoft Office

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS :

• Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field

PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORK ENVIRONMENT :

• Lift up to 50 pounds
• Stand for long periods
• Use repetitive hand motions, hear, listen
• Sit, walk, bend, stoop as needed
• Pass background and drug screening

We offer clear communication and reward talent! Our pay practices include :

• Training Pay : $20 / hr for 2-6 weeks (no commission)
• Post-Training Pay : Base $18 / hr + uncapped commissions
• Total Compensation : $38,000 - $80,000 annually, depending on performance and location
